| Singapore. 1870 |
We have just embarked forward on our journey from Singapore to Hong Kong. The
Rangoon arrived at Singapore for coal at 4 AM, coming into port a half a day ahead of schedule. Aouda expressed a wish to walk ashore, so I engaged a carriage and we explored Singapore all morning. Passepartout preferred to walk behind us, for what reason I do not know. We went on board again at 10 AM and shortly after departed for China. The weather is currently a little rough, but the wind is favourable and the steamer is going along at a rapid rate.
